The venue is very well connected to the rest of the city, the surrounding area and the airport by metro, tram, train and bus.
BILBAO AT A GLANCE
Bilbao is located in the Iberian Peninsula, in its eastern Atlantic watershed -latitude: 43º 15' 42" N, longitude: 2º 55' 43" W-, 19 meters above sea level, and it covers an area of 41.6 square kilometers. Its impressive transportation infrastructure connects it to the rest of Europe by air, land and sea.
Bilbao is the core of a metropolitan area with more than one million inhabitants. Since its foundation, more than 700 years ago, it has been the fundamental factor and the main socio- economic axis around which the Vizcaya region has set its modernization process in motion.
From Burdeos to La Coruña, Bilbao's hegemony is undisputable. No other city has better reasons to be the economic, financial, cultural and tourist capital of the region.
Bilbao has a humid marine climate. The westerly winds and the sea moderating influences bring mild temperatures and a temperate climate all year round. The average temperatures are 8ºC in winter and 20ºC in summer. Bilbao features mild winters and moderately hot summers, and rains are more frequent in spring and autumn.
TRANSPORTATION FROM BILBAO AIRPORT TO BILBAO CITY
BY BUS
A 20-minute journey separates the airport from Bilbao, at Bilbao Intermodal (bus station). Bilbao Intermodal bus station is connected with Metro (San Mamés metro stop), Tram (Zunzunegi stop), the RENFE commuter trains (San Mamés stop) and a number of different Bilbobus and Bizkaibus lines. Conference Venue is sited nearby.
